Heavy lift

Tailor made solutions and independent advice regarding all aspects of lifting. To include factored design and operations involving mobile, tower and crawler cranes. Design assurance specialists with a critical eye on legislation, safety and quality. Crane contracting and planning utilising CPCS appointed persons, providing full CPA contract lift services pursuant to BS 7121 and LOLER 1998 thereafter. Bespoke engineering solutions and contracting for heavy equipment movements and final installations utilising strand/climbing and mega jacks, hydraulic gantries and low profile skidding systems.

Heavy transport

From breakbulk and project cargo, to bridge and building steel we have the experience and expertise to advise on, and supply what is required to make your project a success. Specialists in feasibility studies and with many years experience working with bidding/tendering engineers, we have the vital understanding with regards to the importance of getting the project parameters correct from the start. Expert opinion with regards to road permits, transport legislation and procedures. Having qualified and quantified your requirements, our vast experience in managing and delivering high volume general cargo and abnormal loads mean that you can be assured as to the level of service, efficiency, safety and quality that your project will receive.

Project Management

Industry leading project and programme management. Project Management Institute (PMI) and Chartered Institute of Logistics Transport (CILT) qualified with MAP CSCS, CITB, CCNSG, BESC, NEC and IOSH certifications. All encompassing experience delivering and installing road, rail and highway infrastructure. National Grid and DNO accredited managers who understand that projects require unique solutions. From stakeholder engagement to setting /monitoring project milestones and critical paths, to setting SMART objectives, developing strategies for delivery of the project work scope, and identifying priority project opportunities. Engineering

MAC Heavy Lift can take on full design responsibility for site logistics and handling. This can include providing swept path analysis, turning radius, axle loadings, rigging studies and Heavy Lift Installations using apparatus that fall under the Temporary Works 'false work' category. In addition, our engineering team can provide stress cases utilising Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and propose best practice process and advice with regards to materials that are best suited to the scheme. Aside from producing a design, MAC Heavy Lift can act as an independent design checker on projects that have a transport, lifting or installation tasks. From Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to final installation, MAC Heavy Lift can have a role in your project.

Consulting

Independent consultation with regards specialist logistics, lifting and installation services. To include information and guidance from initial feasibility of potential projects, to the planning and execution stages. MAC Heavy Lift can integrate into any project to provide expert guidance and an independent level of assurance. We can conduct site and route surveys, utilising swept path analysis, utilise height checking and transport modelling software in order to produce data that can be used as part of project design assurance and/or route planning. In addition, we can attend site to interpret the type and size of cranes, vehicles and equipment that can be utilised, with information, drawings, documents and best practice proposals provided as a result.

Temporary Works

Providing a complete solution and the management of your Temporary Works (TW). MAC Heavy Lift will provide guidance and/or the overall management of Temporary Works on your site in relation to the access and movement of Heavy Transport and access /the application of mobile, tower and crawler cranes . Also for Engineered processes such as hydraulic jacking and skidding. Our Team are made up of qualified Temporary Works Co-Ordinators and Temporary Works Supervisors and have a great understanding of CDM 2015 and BS 5975 (Code of Practice for Temporary Works) and their application when applied to heavy transport, lifting and installation on site. Our team can guide site principals and contractors through step by step processes that will assure project methods, and significantly mitigate the chances of design failure on project work.

Contracts and contracting

MAC Heavy Lift can arrange bespoke contracts that can be utilised by our clients when they outsource project logistics and lifitng, in order to manage the risk of spiralling costs on their projects. Using our experience in setting up project 'programme of works' and with the understanding of the complexities of road transport, contract lifting, site operations and 3rd party costs, it is possible to significantly minimise the risk carried by the Project with an all-encompassing contract. As well as experience in detailing and draughting bespoke contracts, the team at MAC Heavy Lift have experience in setting out and evaluating standard forms of contracts such as those produced by NEC and JCT. In addition to contract formation, we can have a role in any pre-litigation evaluation and settlement mediation regarding project logistics and lifting.
